Who WE ARE

 

The Grapevine HIV/AIDS Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose vision is to heal all manner of sickness and disease through the Word of God and the power of the Holy Ghost.  The mission is to educate youth, parents, pastors, and community members concerning HIV/AIDS through social media and community involvement.

 

Accomplishments:

 

  • December 1, 2005 Held its first World AIDS DAY Event at Live Life Tabernacle of Praise (Atlanta, GA) Invited speakers from all walks of life to give their testimonies. We received a Proclamation from Governor Sunny Perdue.

 

  • March 2006 Held a weeklong conference, during the Black Church Week of Prayer. Invited ministers, evangelists, mothers and dancers to tell their stories of the effects of HIV/AIDS on their lives and family lives.

 

  • (2006-2009) Christian Youth AIDS WALKS brought out youths parents, pastors, and concerned persons. Year 1: “On The Road To Damascus” Year 2: “Until Somebody Realizes” Year 3: “Lift Jesus Higher” Year 4: “Education, Motivation, and Mobilization.” Received Proclamations from Rep. 55“Able” Mable Thomas and City Councilman Ivory Lee Young Jr., and Fulton County Commissioner Nancy Boxill.

 

  • December 2006 & December 9 2010 Provided toys through Toys 4 Toys to Children born with HIV: Hero 4 Children Organization, abused women with children, English Ave Community Improvement Association, Greater Vine City Opportunities Program, Mustard Seed Faith Outreach Ministries, and 30-Minutes of Gospel Television Program.

 

  • December 26, 2007, The Grapevine HIV/AIDS Foundation, Inc. becomes official non-profit in the State of GA.

 

       February 2006-2008 August 2006 & 2007, November 2009 Appeared Atlanta Live Talked about my testimony and about the walk.

 

  • (April/May 2006-2010) Advocates in Washington, DC every year during AIDSWATCH Fighting for quality of life, human and civil rights and the for federal funding for persons living with HIV/AIDS in the areas of prevention, housing, medication, oral health, and incarcerated persons infected, etc.

 

  • In August 2007, we hosted and helped organize the Healthcare Luncheon for the SCLC (Southern Christian Leadership Conference) 49th Event (50th) Anniversary. The event raised $25,000 towards the conference. Brought in national leaders and doctors. “Silence Is A Sin”

 

  • 2008-present Speaking engagements: Civic Organizations: Such as the Atlanta Urban League; churches, and schools.  I’ve spoken to over 1,000 youths

 

  • (2003-2008) Advocate for housing and quality of life of persons living with HIV/AIDS. Help people find housing and resources to maintain housing from homelessness, and the incarcerated population. Ryan White Planning Council Member

 

  • 2006-2008 Member of Georgia Community Planning Group, CSA and Publicity

 

  • 2009 Write articles for The Connector, the official newspaper of The Overground RR. The Business Resource Center.  Above All Things Ministry. (AIDS WATCH) Also writes for other magazines and newspapers.

 

  • August 2009 Appeared on TBN’s “Joy In Our Town” with Host Rachael Miller.

 

  • December 1, 2009 Hosted a “Praise Party” Benefit Concert. Held at the Sanctuary Church of The Living God Lithonia GA, Pastor Maurice Easley

 

  • December 6, 2009 World AIDS DAY, HIV/AIDS Awareness Program, “Voices of The Infected” Youth Day Speaker Macon/Warner Robbins GA, Pastor Ronnie Walker/Bro. CalvinWalker

 

  • January 22, 2010 Completed HIV Counseling, Testing, and Referral (CTR) and Oraquick Advance HIV Testing, Recovery Consultants of Atlanta, Inc.
